Be Exceptional

"And let us not grow weary while doing good,
for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."
Galatians 6:9

"it does require the supernatural grace of God to live twenty-four hours of every day as a saint, going through drudgery, and living an ordinary, unnoticed, and ignored existence as a disciple of Jesus. It is ingrained in us that we have to do exceptional things for God—but we do not. We have to be exceptional in the ordinary things of life, and holy on the ordinary streets, among ordinary people—and this is not learned in five minutes."
Oswald Chambers

Just a reminder....sometimes we don't feel special if we are not missionaries, or pastors or worship leaders....we feel that our lives don't count for as much as maybe an evangelist. But we are all part of the Body of Christ, and each of us has a different place in that body. Thankfully we are not all the same and we are not all called to the same position in life. Sometimes we are called to certain positions for a time and then that season comes to an end and a new season begins. But through all of those seasons, one thing remains the same. We are to be examples and lights shining in this world. We are to work hard and rise above with integrity in all we do, working as unto the Lord in all things.

Just remember, we are not all called to do what the world views as "exceptional" things for God. BUT, we are all called to BE exceptional in all things, in our day to day lives, at work, at the office, at the gym, while we are playing basketball or watching the kids. And being exceptional in all of everyday life, is not something that is even remotely possible in our own strength. Thank God for His mercy and grace and strength that He imparts to us!

So, challenge for the day...let us be exceptional...in our lives, how we live, how we speak, how we interact with those around us, how we VOTE, in all things....and let us not grow tired in doing the right thing, in doing good and in being faithful to Him.

night friends!

grace and peace,
rachel
